Widespread Power Outages, Downed Lines Affect 20K Customers In South Jersey
Utility crews continued to grapple with downed power lines that left nearly 20,000 homes and businesses without power in South Jersey after the storm. Scattered power outages totaling 18,000 customers persisted throughout Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, according to Atlantic City Electric on Wednesday, Jan. 10. There was a lucky Powerball player in South Jersey, state Lottery officials said. The prize was worth $50,000. Missing Teen Prompts Concerns In South Jersey
Police have released an updated photo of a 16-year-old girl missing for two weeks out of South Jersey. Nicolette Marchetti was last seen on Dec. 14, wearing a black shirt, red/black checkered pants, and carrying a black/gold purse. She is possibly in the West Deptford/National Park area. She is approximately 4’9″ tall weighing 100 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Seen him? Police are searching for a 20-year-old South Jersey man who has been missing since Christmas. Jacob O. Abdelshahid, of Avenel, was last seen on East Mountain Road near CR 601 overnight on Monday, Dec. 25, Montgomery Township Police Lt. Tom Frascella said. Abdelshahid stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Police paperwork obtained by Daily Voice shows a 31-year-old man took a psychedelic drug with his friend, before strangling him over the weekend in South Jersey. Bradley Niesen's girlfriend told authorities that they both did LSD with Tyler Roderick on the 4600 block of High Street in Pennsauken Saturday night, Dec. 23, before Roderick began acting "acting out" and screaming, according to the affidavit for probable cause. Security Guard Stabbed 2X Trying To Break Up Bar Fight In South Jersey: Cops
A 28-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing a security guard at a South Jersey bar this weekend, authorities said. Marcus Brown, of Voorhees, is believed to have stabbed a the security guard who was trying to break up a fight between him and another man at the Chicken or the Egg on Route 70 in Marlton, around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, Evesham police said. South Jersey Man Killed In Collision With Tractor-Trailer: Police
A 72-year-old man from South Jersey was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer, authorities said. John Amendolia Jr. of Hammonton died in the crash at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, according to Winslow Township police. The crash occurred at the intersection of South Egg Harbor Road and Old Forks Road, police said. Amendolia was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation and there are no charges at this time.
