Update: FedEx Driver Robbed, Police Nab Teaneck Suspect, 31, Who Waded Into Creek Near Route 80
"Give me the package or I'll f*** you up," a shoeless robber from Teaneck told a FedEx driver who was making a delivery in Hackensack on Tuesday, authorities said.
What followed was a massive manhunt and a police chase through a muddy creek that ended when police found Newon O. Byfield, 31, behind the nearby Hilton Hasbrouck Heights/Meadowlands.
And what was in the package? Marijuana, authorities suspect.
The shoeless Byfield approached the driver at a Polifly Road address and threatened him shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Lt. Anthony DiPersia said.

Hackensack PD: Repeat Offender Who Flipped Mugshot Middle Finger Coughs On Police After Robbery
A habitual offender who once gave police the middle finger during a mugshot coughed on Hackensack police, saying he had the coronavirus, when they caught him burglarizing a car following a street robbery, authorities said Monday.
Timothy Carriel, 21, of Hoboken had just robbed a man in the 100 block of Hudson Street by pretending to have a weapon late Saturday, Lt. Anthony DiPersia said.
His companion, Raymond Adams, also 21, “apologized to the victim for Carriel's behavior and they both left the area,” DiPersia said.
