Boyfriend Shoots Girlfriend, 20, In Hip, Police In Lancaster County Say
A man who mishandled a gun and shot his girlfriend on Saturday has been arrested, according to Columbia Borough police.
Columbia Borough Police were dispatched to a shooting at 410 Locust Street just after 7 p.m.
Hailey Jean Brown, 20, was found by police lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to her left hip.
Her boyfriend, Alexander Lewis Heaps, 26, admitted to mishandling his legally purchased semi automatic handgun and accidentally shooting Brown.
Police recovered the gun, a 9mm Smith and Wesson.

CT Man Busted With 145 Vials Of Crack, Other Drugs After Spotted Making Deal, Police Say
A Connecticut man was allegedly busted with 145 vials of crack cocaine, heroin, and other drugs after police spotted him making a deal on a city street.
The bust took place around 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, when Waterbury Police Department’s Gang Task Force and Street Crimes Unit saw area resident Yamil Carreras, age 42, conducting drug deals in the area of Baldwin Street, said Sgt. Robert Davis.
After officers stopped Carreras, a search uncovered:
145 vials of crack cocaine (55.6 grams);
24 bags of cocaine (2.8 grams);
54 bags of heroin;

Two men were arrested for allegedly having a loaded handgun in a hotel room on Long Island.
Manuel Andrade, age 36, and Refugio Miguel Ponce Nunez, age 51, both of East Meadow, were arrested on Friday, April 2, at the Coliseum Inn, located at 1650 Hempstead Turnpike, in East Meadow, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, officers responded to the Coliseum Inn for the report of a found gun. Upon arrival, it was determined that an employee of the hotel, discovered a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver in a guest room.

Four Philadelphia men were arrested following a Morgantown gun show investigation that uncovered a ghost gun trafficking operation, authorities announced.
Authorities seized five fully assembled ghost guns, four 80% receiver kits, one 80% receiver, one Smith and Wesson revolver, extended magazines, and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, according to Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

Fairfield County Man Charged With Illegal Gun Possession
A Fairfield County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
David Burden, age 40, of Norwalk, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, Jan. 20, following the indictment, said John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Burden has been detained in state custody since his arrest on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
As alleged in court documents and statements made in court, on Sept. 30, Bridgeport Police officers arrested Burden after he fired a gun in the area of Kossuth Street and Nichols Street in Bridgeport.

A Fairfield County man on probation was allegedly busted with a loaded gun after being stopped for driving 115 mph on I-95.
Giovanni Candelario, 27, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 9, after his white 2014 Acura IIx20, was spotted traveling in excess of 115 mph and weaving through traffic on Route 8 South, south of Exit 8 in Bridgeport, said the Connecticut State Police.

Man Charged With Manslaughter In Death Of Two During Crash Nabbed With Loaded Gun, Police Say
A Fairfield County man with a long history with the Stamford Police Department, including being arrested for his involvement in the death of two people during a crash, has been arrested again.
Jerry Diaz, 20, of Stamford, was arrested by Stamford Police around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, in what started as a call for a harassment complaint at 27 High Ridge Road, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.
According to Booth, the suspect in the complaint was Diaz, who is facing manslaughter charges in the death of two people who were in a vehicle he was driving when it crashed in August 2019.

Loaded Handgun Recovered From Unlicensed Driver In Routine Secaucus Traffic Stop
A Jersey City man had a loaded handgun on him when he was stopped by police for having tinted windows, front license plate and a bogus rear license plate in Secaucus, authorities said.
Darrion Pierce, 25, was stopped around 10 a.m. Sunday, when police smelled marijuana in his car, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
A search of Pierce's car turned up a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver, along with other drug paraphernalia, Miller said.
