George Pettit, Dentist In Ridgefield For Decades, Dies At 75 A longtime Ridgefield dentist who volunteered at a dental clinic in Honduras has died. Gordon G. Pettit, Jr. who practiced dentistry in Ridgefield for 32 years, died Thursday, May 23 at Danbury Hospital after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 75. Dr. Pettit graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and joined his father in his dental practice in Ridgefield. He was born in New London on Aug. 5, 1943. As a teen, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Dr. Pettit was dedicated to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and many years with Cape Cares where he worked with fello…

37-Year-Old Charged After Falling Through Window Of Popular Sports Bar In Area A 37-year-old man was arrested after falling through the front window of a popular sports bar in the area. Toy Christiansen was arrested Wednesday after police responded to the Crush Sports Bar, 1015 Bridgeport Ave., for a report of property damage, said Milford Officer Joseph Dempsey. When officers arrived on the scene they found that Christiansen, a Seymour resident, had damaged the window after falling into it, he said. He was charged with criminal mischief and released on a promise to appear ticket.
