A pair of Westchester residents are among five facing charges for their alleged roles in a drug trafficking organization that distributed tens of thousands of oxycodone pills in the area. Geoffrey Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Yonkers residents Adriel Vasquez, 37 and Cindy Garcia, 40, were among five suspects who are facing charges for conspiracy to distribute the prescription pills in the Bronx and other locales. Fairfield County Man Who Distributed Heroin To OD Victim Sentenced
A 23-year-old Fairfield County man has been sentenced for distributing heroin that led to a fatal overdose. John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced on Wednesday that Bridgeport resident Richard “Raw” Estaba has been sentenced in district court to one day of imprisonment, time already served in jail, six months of home confinement and four years of supervised release for distributing heroin to an overdose victim in Seymour. Fairfield County Man ID'd As Fatal Route 34 Crash Victim
Police have identified a 36-year-old Fairfield County man killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 34 in New Haven County on Tuesday morning. Christopher Etes of Sandy Hook was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Buckingham Road, according to the Derby Police. Etes, who was driving a Jeep when he crashed into a box truck, was the driver at fault in the incident, Derby Police said in a statement. The Westport Police Department welcomed three new officers to its ranks during a ceremony on Monday, Feb. 26. Additionally, Officer James Baker III was promoted to the rank of detective, after several retirements from the police force.
