A school was evacuated and a SWAT team responded after an emotionally troubled man barricaded himself in his South Hackensack apartment Wednesday. : Wrongly-Delivered Firearm Ammunition Evacuates Chatham School
Firearm ammunition that was wrongly delivered evacuated a Chatham school Tuesday. Students at the St. Patrick School on Chatham Street were sheltered in place and then evacuated due to the factory-sealed package, that was delivered Friday among a pallet of school traffic safety equipment, the borough's police department said. Members of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office assisted Chatham Borough Police with a precautionary sweep. Parents were notified and school grounds were deemed safe, police said.
