Stretches of four of the most traveled parkways in the area were closed late Tuesday afternoon due to flooding and a crash on northbound I-684 blocked two lanes for about an hour. There will be single- and double-lane closures on the Saw Mill River Parkway for more than a week in Westchester as crews perform construction work in the area. This story has been updated. There was gridlock on both the Saw Mill River Parkway and I-684 for much of the Friday afternoon commute following northbound crashes that blocked lanes. The Saw Mill River Parkway crash was northbound at Roaring Brook Road (Exit 33) with gridlock to Route 120. The I-684 incident occurred at Route 22 (Exit 3) in Armonk with stop-and-go delays I-287 while the lane was blocked. There were additional northbound delays a short time after the line reopened due to a stalled vehicle in the right lane on I-684 at Route 172 in Bedford (Exit 4).

Stolen Audi Found In Northern Westchester
An Audi that was stolen from a Mount Vernon service center was recovered on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester this week. The car was stolen from the Classic Audi service center on North MacQuesten Parkway, after its owner dropped off the vehicle on Saturday following an airbag recall that was announced earlier this year. Police said that the car was found on Tuesday afternoon on the Saw Mill River Parkway and an arrest was made. A 21-year-old man is heading to jail after pleading guilty to his role in the fatal hit-and-run that took the life of a Westchester teenager. Yonkers resident Junior Silverio-Ventura - who was 19 years old at the time of the crash in September 2016 - has been sentenced to six months in Westchester County Jail and five years probation after pleading guilty in March to a felony count of criminally negligent homicide for his involvement in the crash.
