The New Jersey Attorney General's Office is investigating a pursuit in which the vehicle being pursued struck a motorcyclist, killing the operator. One Injured In Three-Car Crash On Route 80:

One person was injured in a three-car crash on Route 80 in Parsippany on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 8, authorities said. At 11:52 a.m., troopers responded to Route 80 eastbound at mile 42 for the collision between three passenger vehicles, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Route 80 was down two lanes due to a crash early Wednesday, July 31 in Morris County, the NJDOT site says. It happened in the eastbound lanes in Rockaway, west of Exit 35 around 8:15 a.m. As of press time, emergency vehicles were at the scene with traffic getting by in the right lane.

PA State Police Car Catches Fire On Route 80
A PSP vehicle caught fire on a Luzerne County highway late Monday, July 15, according to officials. The blaze happened on Route 80 near mile marker 272.1, said White Haven Fire Company. Troopers brought the flames under control by the time firefighters arrived, and a hose was used to soak down the engine compartment, authorities said. No one was injured, the fire company added. The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Rt 80 near mile marker 259.1 around 9:30 a.m., Hazle Township Fire and Rescue Company detailed in the release. Tractor Trailer Driver, 22, Airlifted In Route 80 Crash
The driver of a tractor trailer was airlifted to the hospital in a Route 80 crash early Friday, July 12 in Warren County, police said. The 22-year-old Lodi, CA man was heading east when he ran off the left side of the roadway, struck the guardrail, went into a ditch, and collided with a tree just after 6:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The unnamed man sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation, and there was no further information.

Two major crashes closed two major highways early Monday, June 24 in Passaic County. The first crash happened when a motorcycle and commercial truck collided just before 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 46, Clifton police said. The motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries. All lanes were closed between Hazel Street and Paulson Avenue as of 9:40 a.m. Meanwhile, an overturned tractor trailer closed Route 80 in Paterson the eastbound ramp to Exit 58 just after 6:25 a.m., the NJDOT site says. A tractor trailer hauling used clothes overturned on Route 80 in Morris County on Wednesday, June 19, injuring one person, authorities said. At 3:04 p.m., a tractor trailer lost directional control and overturned on Route 80 east in Roxbury Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A passenger in the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, authorities said. No other injuries were reported and the crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
