A Route 1 crash involving four vehicles killed one driver and hospitalized two others on Tuesday night, Feb. 6, police said. The crash occurred just north of Country Meadows Lane in Laurel shortly before 9:45 p.m., according to the Howard County Police Department. A 1995 Chevy 1500 was heading northbound when it crossed the median and struck a southbound 2007 Pontiac Solstice. Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle Crossing Highway: Linden Police (

A 60-year-old Linden man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Monday, Dec. 18, police said. A 78-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman from Old Bridge were heading south on Route 1 when they fatally struck the man as he crossed the highway at 6:49 p.m., police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police declined to identify who was driving the vehicle, citing the ongoing investigation. 4 Injured In NJ Transit Bus Crash
A bus driver and three passengers were injured when a New Jersey Transit bus was rear-ended in Trenton, authorities said. At 11:21 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, the #601 bus was traveling on Mulberry Street and was slowing down to stop at the railroad crossing next to Route 1 when a vehicle rear-ended the bus, Trenton police said. A 25-year-old woman faces several charges after she was caught attempting to cash a stolen check at a Fairfield County bank, police said. The arrest resulted from an incident on Friday, Oct. 20 around 5:30 p.m., when Darien Police officers responded to a TD Bank located at 55 Post Rd. Dump Truck Flips, Central Jersey Road Closed: Police
South Brunswick police advised motorists to avoid New Road near Route 1 for two hours after a dump truck overturned. At 6:45 a.m., Monday, Oct. 23, police responded to the single-vehicle crash on New Road near Woodlot Park. The dump truck landed on its side and had taken down a number of utility wires. There are no injuries in the crash, police said. New Road had reopened by 9:45 a.m. between Route 1 and Wheeler Road. South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating the crash.
