Two motorists were seriously hurt in a pair of crashes on the Garden State Parkway in Central Jersey, authorities said.
The first crash occurred at 12:53 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 south at milepost 125.2 in Sayreville. Preliminary investigation indicates that a Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling southbound in the express lanes when it went off the road to the right, then struck the guardrail and concrete support beam, according to Sgt. Alejandro Goez, a New Jersey State Police spokesman.

A driver who was stopped by Clifton police with bullet holes in his windshield hit the gas and sped off -- nearly hitting two officers -- before crashing in Glen Ridge during the subsequent pursuit, authorities said.
Officers stopped the 2017 Mercedes E300 on Allwood Road near Clifton Avenue around 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.

Two women traveling in an RV died in a rash involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 66 this week in Virginia, authorities said.
Ifreke E. Inyang, 25, of Houston, Texas, was charged with reckless driving after the Winnebago RV he was operating struck the eastbound trailer near milepost 16 around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 in Fauquier County, State Police said.
