A popular Ridgewood restaurant will close next month after 37 years in business, following the sale of the building housing the longtime eatery, owners announced Wednesday, May 13.
The Village Green Restaurant, which has served the community since 1989, said on its website and Facebook page that chef and owner Kevin had operated the business for the past 15 years before learning the property had been sold.

Former Bergen County mom Jill Marie Reinauer died Tuesday, Aug. 19. She was 42 years old.
Born in Ridgewood and formerly of Franklin Lakes, Jill moved to Staten Island 15 years ago and worked in the family’s marine business, Reinauer Transportation, her obituary on the Vander Plaat Funeral Home website reads.

A 21-year-old Army cadet from New Jersey died during a land navigation exercise at Fort Knox, officials from the US Army confirmed.
Cadet Neil Edara, of Ridgewood (Bergen County), became unresponsive on Thursday, July 24, while attending Cadet Summer Training with the 9th Regiment, Advanced Camp.
He was airlifted to the University of Louisville, where he was later pronounced dead.
