Plumsted Woman, 63, Killed In Mobile Home Fire: Prosecutor
A 63-year-old woman from Ocean County was killed in a fire at a mobile home, authorities said.
Catherine Hakos's body was recovered from the back bedroom of the residence, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
On Wednesday, Nov. 1, at approximately 10 a.m., a mobile home fire was reported on Lakewood Road in Plumsted Township. Upon arrival, emergency service personnel observed heavy smoke emanating from the mobile home, with a male victim outside the residence and another victim still trapped inside.

An 80-year-old woman was hospitalized and her ex-con son arrested as firefighters doused a smoky Tuesday morning blaze that ravaged their Rochelle Park home.
Carmine Covino, 55, was taken into custody after he interfered with responders trying to take his mother, Concetta, to Hackensack University Medical Center after she suffered smoke inhalation, Rochelle Park Police Lt. Edward Kukalski said.
Covino, a registered sex offender with a lengthy rap sheet, "ignored several warnings" before officers were left no choice, the lieutenant said.
