The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department has officially welcomed three new officers, Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. announced. Deputies Collier and Burke and CO Martin were welcomed to the department at a Swearing-In ceremony attended by family members on Thursday, May 9. “May you all have a long, happy and fulfilling career!” said Sheriff Langley Jr. “We are so glad you are here.”

Route 22 Stop Results In DWI, Drug Possession Charges For Motorist, Passenger
A motorist and passenger are facing charges after a traffic stop on Route 22, according to police. An officer with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department allegedly observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on State Route 22 in the Town of Patterson on Saturday, April 20 around 12 a.m. The officer conducted a traffic stop and allegedly observed an alcoholic odor coming from the driver, identified as 38-year-old Carlos Diaz of Waterbury, Connecticut. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is using "Throwback Thursday" to look back on the fire that forever altered the landscape of Carmel as we know it today. The blaze occurred in the area of Gleneida Avenue on October 22, 1974, causing damage and destruction to many local businesses: Morettini’s Variety Store was the largest, followed by Capiello’s Jewelers, Carmel Liquor Store, Kurtz Newspaper Store, Smalley’s Inn, Amber Waves of Grain and Montgomery Ward and Simpson’s Drug Store. A 23-year-old man has admitted to pulling a gun out and demanding a woman get into her car as he attempted to abduct her on the side of a busy roadway in Northern Westchester. Cortlandt resident Kyle Gregg has admitted to the attempted kidnapping of a woman in Mount Kisco in January. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, Honorable Gina Capone authorized and signed a warrant for the arrest of Richard Lennox of Lake Peekskill.
