A 34-year-old registered sex offender is behind bars after an investigation by members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation into the online possession of images of child sexual abuse material. A 16-year-old Brewster High School student was arrested for allegedly making threats against the school that led to a lockout on Wednesday, Dec. 19. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department responded to the home of the student who allegedly made the threats on social media accounts on Tuesday, Dec. 18. A man who barricaded himself inside a home in Lake Carmel was taken into custody late Friday night. The incident began Friday afternoon around 3:40 p.m. in the Vernon Drive area when a family member called police reporting the situation.
