Philly Man Arrested In $100K Jewelry Store Heist
A 53-year-old man from Philadelphia has been arrested in connection with a $100,000 heist from a jewelry store, authorities said. Chim Phu was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 3 after a warranted search of his home, Philadelphia police said. The robbery took place at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 on the 900 block of Arch Street. Four trays of jewelry were taken during the robbery, police said. Authorities recovered loaded firearms, ammunition and drugs from the scene during their search. Patrol Vehicle Crash Sends 1 To Hospital: Philadelphia PD
An officer "operating a marked patrol vehicle was involved with a private vehicle", sending one person to the hospital on Monday morning, July 22, Philadelphia Police announced. The crash happened in the 18th District, at 57th Street and Larchwood Avenue at 6:09 a.m., as stated in the release. The officer was not injured, but the driver of the private vehicle was taken by Medic 9 to Jefferson Hospital for evaluation. The scene is being held. CID is the lead investigation unit. Woman Shot, Killed In Philadelphia Home: Police
A 59-year-old woman was killed in a residence in Kensington on Friday afternoon, June 28, said Philadelphia police. The victim was shot on the 3400 block of Crystal Street around 1 p.m. and taken to St. Christopher's Hospital where she died, according to authorities. A 19-year-old man was shot to death in West Oak Lane on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, Philadelphia police say. Authorities said it happened on the 7100 block of Limekiln Pike at 3:45 p.m. The victim was shot multiple times and taken to Albert Einstein Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries before the hour, according to officials. Two Officers Hospitalized After Crash Heading To Call: Philadelphia Police
Two Philadelphia officers were struck by a private vehicle on their way to a call, police announced on Monday night. The patrol vehicle was struck at the intersection of 16th Street and Norris Street in the 22nd District at approximately 8:29 p.m. on Feb. 12, the police explained in a release about an hour later.
