Crash Sends Jeep Into Paramus Bank
A driver sustained a minor injury after a collision Monday night sent her Jeep into a former Paramus bank building. Both vehicles were towed after the crash on South Fairview Avenue near the Rochelle Park border shortly before 8:30 p.m. Paramus and Rochelle Park police and Rochelle Park firefighters and EMS were among the responders. An 18-year-old woman was struck and killed early Saturday on southbound Route 17 in Paramus, responders said. "The victim was walking in right lane of the highway" when she was struck around 5:30 a.m. near the Garden State Parkway overpass and Midland Avenue, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg told Daily Voice. Furious efforts to save her life failed. The driver remained at the scene as the victim was taken to a nearby hospital. No other information about the crash was immediately available. Packed Garbage Truck Tips On Route 17 Ramp
A fully loaded garbage truck tipped over on a Route 17 exit ramp late Wednesday morning. The driver was hospitalized with back and neck injuries after climbing from the rig, which rolled onto its side on the ramp from southbound Route 17 onto eastbound Linwood Avenue in Ridgewood by the Stop & Shop at the Paramus border shortly after 11 a.m. Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS were joined by Paramus police. A good Samaritan rescued a Paramus woman who was tackled and pulled into the bushes on a local street in broad daylight by a would-be rapist carrying a knife, authorities said. The 35-year-old victim told police she was walking on Oradell Avenue near Wilsey Court and the Garden State Parkway when Hector W. A call to Paramus police that shots were fired Wednesday morning at the Garden State Plaza proved bogus, authorities said. None of the businesses had opened yet at the mall -- although mall walkers and workers were there -- when the "swatting" call came in around 8:30 a.m. that shots had been fired at the T-Mobile kiosk. Firefighters Cut Roof Of Car To Rescue Driver In Paramus Crash
Firefighters cut the roof off of a sedan that collided with a minivan to extricate the driver Monday evening in Paramus. The crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. outside of 524 Forest Ave. The sedan driver was conscious and alert after being extricated, and was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The minivan driver was sitting in a chair on the side of the road waiting to be transported. Paramus police and EMS also responded.

Truck Crash Jams Route 17
A driver escaped serious injury when a box truck crashed early Friday on Route 17 in Paramus. The driver got out under his own steam after the truck hit a pole and a tree, landing on its side on the northbound highway outside the Trader Joe's near the Midland Avenue exit shortly before 6:30 a.m. The right and center lanes were temporarily closed as a heavy duty wrecker righted and removed the truck. Traffic stretched for miles. All lanes were reported reopened at 8:44 a.m. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS responded.

Truck Rolls On GSP Ramp At Route 17
A large truck rolled over and blocked the exit ramp from the southbound Garden State Parkway to southbound Route 17 southbound in Paramus during the post-July 4th morning rush. The driver got out under his own steam before responders arrived and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. A driver walked away with a minor injury after an SUV rollover crash on the Garden State Parkway, responders said. The crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. on the parkway’s southbound side near Linwood Avenue. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS, New Jersey State Police and a GSP road crew were among the responders.
