Paramus Crash Sends Driver To Hospital A driver was hospitalized following a chain-reaction late-morning crash Monday in Paramus. The driver's BMW slammed into a minivan in front of the Brookdale Paramus Senior Living community on Paramus Road between Johnson and White Pine courts. There was no immediate word on the extent of the victim's injuries or whether anyone else was hurt. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS responded.

The Volkswagen rolled in front of 35 Plaza shopping center, which includes a Houlihan's, Starbucks and Roadrunner Sports, among other businesses. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS responded. Gerald Smith, 48, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 20, for the Jan. 15 theft, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. On April 4, Greenwich Police arrested Joshua Spillman, 40, also of Mount Vernon, and charged him with organized retail theft greater than $10,000, conspiracy to commit larceny and larceny. A PSE&G crew was summoned to replace the pole in the 700 block of Highland Avenue after the hatchback hit it shortly before 6 p.m. Paramus police and EMS responded. The driver was conscious and alert and talking on his cellphone as he was loaded into the ambulance. The car was towed.
