Using a set of criteria that includes public schools, cost of living, diversity, weather, and housing, Niche ranked the best places to live in America and heavily featured communities in Massachusetts.

Two Massachusetts Communities Rank High In 'Best Coastal Small Towns' List
A pair of Massachusetts towns nestled by the Atlantic coast were recognized for their "tranquility and charm" on USA Today's list of 10 best coastal small towns in the US.
Marblehead, in Essex County, scored the number three spot on USA Today's list, ranking just below Sandusky, Ohio, and Stuart, Florida, which held the number one and number two spot, respectively.
The town, home to 19,808 residents, is known for its "quaint narrow streets and historic 17th and 18th-century buildings," according to the town website.

A retired Suffolk County judge who died at the age of 60 is being remembered as an inspiration to others.
Theresa Whelan died on Monday, Dec. 26, Suffolk County Women's Bar Association announced.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Whelan, her two adult children, Erin and Joe, and her granddaughter, Andrea.

Michael Anthony Kaschak, a beloved Netcong husband and father of two, died suddenly on Monday, Dec. 5, according to his obituary. He was 30.
Loved ones said Mike worked as a heavy machinery operator, and cherished his time in the outdoors, especially riding quadrunners and camping with his family.
