: Leaked Shell Station Toxins Caused Cancer That Killed Northvale Girl
The family of a late Northvale girl has filed a lawsuit alleging her deadly brain cancer was caused by a contaminant leak from a nearby gas station. Vivienne Knopp, 7, had been living at one of the homes in which toxic chemicals had seeped into the garden soil from an underground Shell station tank, NorthJersey.com reports. The lawsuit was filed last Thursday in Superior Court -- exactly two years after Vivienne's death - and names Shell Oil Co. and the station's owner, Tappan Realty. Prosecutor: Northvale Man With Child Porn Stash Had Sex Chats, Got Pics From Underage Girls
A 23-year-old Northvale electrician created a bogus identity to have online sex chats with two underage girls whom he convinced to send him nearly two dozen “nude or sexually explicit” photos of themselves, authorities charged. Ronald S. “Ronnie” Rovito Jr. used the screen names “buyingnudes2019,” “whoop_w,” or “ncruzan,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Thursday. Downed Utility Lines Spark Leaf Blaze, Cut Power To Norwood Businesses
Fallen utility lines knocked out power to several area businesses and sparked a leaf blaze in Norwood that was doused by firefighters on Monday. The lines fell in the area of Broadway and Livingston Street outside the Chase Bank shortly before noon. Norwood firefighters were joined by their colleagues from Closter, Demarest, Harrington Park, Haworth and Northvale, as well as borough police and EMS and the Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps. A stopped freight train in Northvale blocked several crossings into Tappan, N.Y. Saturday afternoon, responders said. Raod closures were posted on westbound Old Tappan Road, Greenbush Road and a portion of Andre Avenue. It was initially unclear why the CSX train was stopped.

Propane Gas Leak At Storage Tank On Route 303 Causes Road Closures
A stretch of Route 303 was shut down for several hours in Rockland County as first responders dealt with a leaking propane storage tank, police said. First responders were dispatched to the Beckerle Lumber Supply Company on Route 303 in Orangeburg shortly after 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
