A longtime Connecticut resident and priest who served the state for more than five decades has died. The Rev. Gerald H. Dziedzic, of Southington, died Feb. 25 after a brief illness, the Archdiocese of Hartford announced Monday, March 2. He was 78. Dziedzic spent much of his life serving local parishes and schools. For many families in Southington, Meriden, New Milford, Terryville, Hartford, and Bristol, he was a steady presence at baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
