Services Set For Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville After Death At 68
Service dates have been set to honor the life of Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville, who died last week at the age of 68.
McConville died peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 22, with his family by his side, as Daily Voice previously reported.
According to his obituary, friends and family will gather on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Clinton Funeral Home, located at 21 Parrott St. in Cold Spring. Recognize Him? Gunman Opens Fire On Teen At Lirr Platform In Lynbrook, MTA Police
A 17-year-old boy was shot on a Long Island Rail Road platform in Lynbrook, and police want to know if you recognize the suspect, MTA Police announced on Monday, Aug. 11.
The shooting happened on Platform B at the LIRR Lynbrook Station at 7:55 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, according to the release.
The pictured suspect intentionally fired a gun at the teen, striking him in the torso, investigators explained.
The victim was taken to Franklin Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

A 42-year-old man was struck and killed by a Metro-North train on its way to Yankee Stadium in Westchester County, authorities said.
The incident happened just before 11:30 a.m., when Metro-North Train 7620, which was traveling from the Putnam County town of Southeast to Yankee Stadium, was entering the White Plains station and struck the man, who was on the tracks without authorization, the MTA Police Department said on Monday, June 30.

Brayan Heredia-Escobar, 19, of Guatemala; Jhon Lopez-Camps, 18, of El Salvador; and Julio Beltran, 39, of El Salvador, were indicted for second-degree murder in Suffolk County Court in the brutal killing of 39-year-old Salvadoran national Candido Saravia-Martinez.

A Hudson Valley man has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking a train conductor, seriously injuring him and fracturing his jaw.
The incident took place in Orange County in the City of Port Jervis on Thursday, Sept. 7.
According to Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden, Damarion D. Gulley, age 22, hometown unknown, of Rockland County, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 18, for the crime that took place on an MTA platform in Port Jervis.

Two teenagers who went missing late last week have been located.
Long Island residents Vincent Abolafia, and his girlfriend, Kaileigh Catalano, both age 15 and of Manorville in Suffolk County, were last seen at the Ronkonkoma train station on Thursday, Dec. 9 with the intention of boarding the 3:11 p.m. train to Manhattan, Suffolk County Police said.
On Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 14, the Suffolk County PD said the two "were located, unharmed, in Manhattan today."
The NYPD and MTA Police Department assisted in the investigation.
