Two days after the storm tore through the region, bringing down trees and power lines, 533,439 in Connecticut remain without power as of midday Thursday, Aug. 6 as Eversource crews work around the clock to make repairs.

As of 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 618,418 of Eversource’s 1,281,259 Connecticut customers were still in the dark as the company works around the clock to make repairs following the storm.

Man Charged In Double-Fatal Fairfield County Crash That Left Another Critical, Police Say
A 30-year-old man has been arrested for two counts of manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash that two people dead and another in critical condition.
The horrific two-vehicle crash took place in Fairfield County around 11:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, on River Road in Shelton.
During the crash, two people, including, Lily Pirulli, 20, of Monroe, and Adrian Miles, 31, of Ansonia, were killed, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.
Pirulli, a graduate of Masuk High School, was the daughter of longtime Bridgeport Police Officer Mario Pirulli.
