A 17-year-old Monroe County boy was arrested after leading state and local police on a high-speed chase through the Poconos region last week, authorities claim in a release.
It happened on Monday, April 24, Pocono Township police wrote. Officers patrolling on Route 611 spotted a white BMW with its headlights off and tried to initiate a stop, but the driver fled the scene, the department said.

Undercover Fentanyl Bust Nets Mom, Son, Others In Poconos: DA
Four people are in police custody — including a mother and her son — after Monroe County authorities say they tried to sell fentanyl to an undercover police officer.
All four were arrested on Monday, April 10 following a months-long investigation that culminated with a controlled drug buy in Stroudsburg, said Monroe County District Attorney E. David Christine, Jr. in a statement.

Poconos Man Hits Head On Curb, Dies While Getting Out Of Moving Car: Coroner
A Monroe County who was badly injured in an accident has succumbed to his injuries, officials announced.
Ryan Oskam, 30, of Kunkletown, got out of the moving car on the the 100 block of West Main Street in the borough of Bath, striking his head on the curb, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio in a statement.
He died on Sunday, March 26, from complications related to a traumatic head injury, Buglio said. The manner of death was accidental, he added.

Samantha Crich and her daughter, Elizabeth, were coming home from a doctor's visit when they were struck by an out-of-control tractor trailer around 11 a.m., according to a GoFundMe campaign and Pennsylvania State Police.

Poconos Man Stole Drugs From His Impounded Car, Police Say
A Monroe County man faces criminal trespassing charges for allegedly trying to sneak into a police impound lot and remove marijuana from his confiscated car, authorities say.
Leroy Litus, 23, of Tobyhanna, was pulled over by Pocono Township police for a traffic stop around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, the department said.
