One Monroe County shopper hit it big this weekend, say state officials. A customer at Weis Markets at 933 North 9th St. in Stroudsburg purchased a jackpot-winning $5 Million Money Maker Scratch-Off, lottery representatives said in a statement Monday, Feb. 6. A college student from Saudi Arabia who stole a school bus in Livingston, NJ, and drove it nearly 60 miles to Stroudsburg, PA, kept anti-Semitic journals, federal authorities said. A furious driver in Monroe County leapt from his car, brandished a machete, and threatened to kill people along Route 940 on Tuesday, Jan. 17, according to a report by WFMZ. Both drivers were ejected and killed after their vehicles overturned several times on Route 80 in the Poconos Monday afternoon, state police confirmed. Police ID Skeletal Remains In Lehigh Valley As 'Kunkletown Killer'
Police have identified the skeletal remains found by hunters in the Lehigh Valley as belonging to a convicted killer. Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said the bones were those of William S. Edelman, Jr., a 65-year-old who most recently lived in Catasauqua. The remains were located just before 4:30 p.m. Monday in a secluded portion of the Appalachian Trail in Moore Township, the coroner said.
