Woman Killed In Jersey Shore Apartment Fire A woman was killed in an apartment fire at the Jersey Shore early Wednesday, Nov. 15, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. The fire broke out around 6:20 a.m. at Evergreen Terrace Apartments in Red Bank, a public housing complex off Drs. James Parker Boulevard, authorities said. A source said the woman was about 90 years old. News12.com said the fire victim had an oxygen tank in her possession. NJ Transit Train Strikes Car On Jersey Shore A New Jersey Transit train struck a car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. At 7:32 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3224 crashed into the car at the Bethany Road crossing in Hazlet. The car's motorist was not hurt.  No injuries were reported to the approximately 150 customers or the crew on board at the time. The train departed Long Branch at 7:10 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 8:41 a.m. Customers from train 3224 were being transferred to a following train.  New Jersey Transit Police are on scene leading the investigation.

10 Heat-Related Incidents Hospitalize 4 During Jersey Shore Half-Marathon Ten people suffered heat-related incidents at the 50th annual Jersey Shore half-marathon in Sandy Hook over the weekend, authorities said.  Four runners were taken to the hospital from the popular race on Sunday, Oct. 1, according to a National Park Service spokeswoman.  Six other racers refused medical attention, the spokeswoman said. Sunday was a summer-like day with temps plunging near 80 degrees.
