Osbado Hernandez, 54, of Avenel, conspired with others to lie about a bogus short sale of his house in Keansburg so that the unidentified bank would discharge what was left on his mortgage, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said. Hernandez bought the property for $239,900 in 2006, financing it through a mortgage loan from the victimized bank, a complaint on file in U.S. District Court in Trenton says. Shark Bites PA Teen Surfing In NJ A 15-year-old girl from Pennsylvania was bitten by a shark while surfing off the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The shark bite occurred off Stone Harbor's 109th Street Beach, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, Stone Harbor officials said. The injured surfer sustained several cuts to her left foot and calf, officials said. She received immediate onsite medical treatment from Stone Harbor Fire/Rescue. Motorcyclist, 40, Killed In Jersey Shore Crash A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an overnight crash at the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The Jackson Township man was heading south on Manassa Road in Howell when he ran off the roadway to the right and struck a utility pole around 12:35 a.m., local police said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. More Than 1,000 Without Power In Monmouth County There was a power outage that left more than 1,000 Jersey Shore customers without electricity. A total of 1,056 customers remained without power in Monmouth County as of 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, according to JCP&L. The cause of the outages were not immediately clear. It's going to be a "rinse and repeat" type forecast for the next couple days, according to the National Weather Service. A stagnant upper low will continue scattered shower chances through Friday, but none of the days will be complete washouts.

According to shark research center OCEARCH, the dorsal fin of Simon — who weighs 434 pounds and measures nine feet and six inches in length — surfaced several times Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1 in Ocean County.
