$95M Apartment Complex Planned For Westchester Avenue In White Plains
A $95 million development will replace a parking lot across from a busy office building in the heart of Westchester County's I-287 corridor. The Westchester County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) approved measures to provide financial incentives for the complex that would be constructed at 1133 Westchester Ave. in White Plains. According to the IDA, the complex would be comprised of three separate five-story buildings on a 20-acre site with a total of 303 one- two- and three-bedroom apartments. Serious I-287 Crash Causes Gridlock During Evening Commute
This story has been updated. A serious single-vehicle crash that initially closed the right and center lanes of I-287 in White Plains caused delays during the evening commute. The eastbound crash took place around 4:26 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, when a car overturned in White Plains near mile marker 5.1, with possible entrapment, state police said. Ramp To I-95 Will Be Closed To All Traffic For Duration Of $135 Million Project
An exit ramp on I-95 will be closed for upwards of two years as construction continues on a stretch of I-95 as part of the $135 million “Last Mile” infrastructure project in Westchester. The New York State Thruway Authority announced that beginning Monday, April 15, the ramp from Midland Avenue to I-95 northbound in Rye will be closed to all traffic during the duration of the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2021. Serious Crash Cleared On I-287, Slowdowns Occurring
A crash involving several vehicles on Interstate 287 that initially blocked two lanes has been cleared, according to New York State Police. The crash took place around 8 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, westbound on I-287 near the South Ridge Street overpass in Rye Brook, state police said. Two westbound lanes have reopened, but traffic is still backed up for several miles. There was no report of injuries.

A Westchester man is facing a felony DWI charge after he was pulled over on I-287, police say. New York State Police observed a vehicle commit an infraction on I-287 and initiated a traffic stop on Sunday, March 24 around 4 a.m. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Johncarlos Valencia of New Rochelle, was allegedly found to be intoxicated.
