Passenger Charged After Stolen Car Rollover, Foot Chase On I-287 In Westchester
One of two men arrested following a wild police chase including parts of I-287 will be arraigned in Harrison Town Court. Yonanthan Abreu, 23, of the Bronx, was charged Tuesday, Feb. 26, with criminal possession of stolen property and assault, both felonies, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Two suspects in an allegedly stolen car took police on a wild chase on, off and across I-287 in Westchester. Westchester County Police investigators at the Real Time Crime Center alerted officers on patrol at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, of an allegedly stolen Honda CRV that was trailing on the Hutchinson River Parkway near Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. I-287 Fully Reopens After Gasoline Tanker Fire
This story has been updated. I-287 is now fully reopened after a fire broke out on a gasoline tanker in White Plains. All lanes both ways were initially closed between Exit 9A (I-684) and Exit 9 (Hutchinson River Parkway) after the incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, leading to the shutdown of the highway in both directions. Westbound lanes reopened after about an hour.

Numerous Crashes Cause Delays During Storm
This story has been updated. Three crashes caused delays on three busy roadways in the area amid the storm on Tuesday afternoon. The right and center lanes on eastbound I-287 in Westchester were blocked by a crash between exits 7 and 8 just before 4 p.m. There were delays on the Tappan Zee Bridge following a crash mid-span at around 4:15 p.m. northbound (Rockland-bound). I-287 Stop In Westchester Leads To DWI Charge For Fairfield Man
A Town of Fairfield man is facing multiple charges after police conducted a traffic stop on I-287 in Westchester. The incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 3 at around 1:20 a.m. State Police stopped a vehicle on I-287 in the town of Greenburgh for numerous vehicle and traffic violations. During the stop, the driver, 58-year-old James A. Cheney of Fairfield appeared to be intoxicated and gave police probable cause to search the vehicle. The back-to-back storms that will sweep through the area late this week will be followed by a blast of Arctic Air and an accumulation of ice that could cause power outages on Sunday.
