Nearly two dozen area motorists were among those busted by State and local law enforcement agencies have made a concerted effort to curtail impaired drivers in the Hudson Valley as part of a drinking and driving crackdown throughout the state. It took a true team effort between county and local law enforcement to stop a pair of suspects who allegedly stole a car in New Rochelle on Thursday and led police on a wild foot chase on the Metro-North railroad tracks. A water main break led to decreased or no water pressure in a Mount Pleasant neighborhood, impacting the Westlake High School campus. Man, 21, Killed In Crash Near Yorktown Police Headquarters
A 21-year-old man was killed after driving into a utility pole in an early morning crash on Route 202 near Yorktown Police Headquarters. Police are investigating the crash that took the life of Yorktown resident Alexander Delic, who was killed in a one-vehicle crash at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Lifelong Westchester resident Aaron Joseph Dannenbring, who lived in Valhalla and Hawthorne, died suddenly on Wednesday, Jan. 30 in Valhalla. He was a sophomore economics student at Binghamton University. Valhalla Man Killed After Falling While Clearing Ice From Roof
A Westchester man died after slipping and falling while trying to clear an ice dam off of his roof, said Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi said. Hawthorne Community Rallies Around Family After New Father Dies
Paulie Packes was only 9 days old when his father, Anthony, a Stamford resident who grew up in Hawthorne, died of a brain tumor at the age of 36. A GoFundMe page has been launched for the Packes family. As of Friday morning, the page has raised $51,565 in four days from 325 people. Anthony was diagnosed with a brain tumor in March 2015.
