ID Released For 27-Year-Old Killed In Route 1 Crash
The identity has been released for the person killed in a single-vehicle crash after hitting a tree and utility wires, before slamming into a building.
The crash took place around 10:18 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, on Post Road (Route 1) with the intersection with Cross Lane in Cos Cob, according to Greenwich Police.
The vehicle, a 2008 Ford Taurus, had been traveling east when it left the roadway and struck a tree and utility wires before it ended up colliding with the commercial building located at 121 Post Road, police said.

A year to the day the body of a Westchester woman was found dead stuffed in a red suitcase in the woods of Greenwich, an ex-boyfriend pleaded guilty to kidnapping resulting in her death.
Valerie Reyes, 24, was found dead on the morning of Feb. 5, 2019, just off Glenville Road in Greenwich by a highway crew employee.
Javier E. DaSilva-Rojas, 25, pleaded guilty to the charge on Wednesday, Feb. 5, and is expected to be sentenced to at least 30 years in prison, said the Greenwich Police.

Stamford Man Arrested On Warrant For DUI Following A Crash, Greenwich Police Say
A Stamford man wanted on a warrant for an alleged DUI following a crash turned himself in to police.
Chet Quinlan, 37, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 10, turned himself in to Greenwich Police and was charged DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane, said the Greenwich Police.
Quinlan was wanted for an incident that took place on July 29, 2019, in which he was allegedly driving under the influence when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree, police said.
He was released on a $5,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Jan. 24.
