Alcohol, Tobacco Sold To Minors At Greenlawn Smoke Shop: Police
Two Suffolk County store clerks were caught selling alcohol and tobacco to minors during a police compliance check, authorities announced on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Aman, 24, of South Ozone Park, was working at One Stop Smoke Shop, 233A Broadway in Greenlawn, when they allegedly sold alcohol to an underage customer, Suffolk County Police said. Aman was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Driver, 28, Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Pole In Greenlawn
A man suffered serious injuries after crashing into a utility pole in Greenlawn, police announced on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Christian Western, 28, of Huntington, was driving a 2004 Honda Accord northbound when he veered off the roadway and struck the pole in front of 315 Broadway at 3:45 p.m., according to the Suffolk County Police Second Squad.
He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Honda was impounded for a safety check, police added.
Detectives are investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
Driver, 32, Dies After Truck Hits Tree, Overturns In Greenlawn
A 32-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash on Long Island.
Joseph Scappatore, of Greenlawn, succumbed to injuries sustained when his Chevrolet pickup truck struck a tree on Greenlawn Road near Ducharme Lane in Greenlawn, Suffolk County Police announced Monday, March 10.
The wreck happened at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, as Daily Voice reported.
Scappatore was heading northbound on Greenlawn Road when his vehicle left the roadway, crashed into a tree, and overturned, police said. He was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.

Six employees are facing charges after allegedly selling restricted products to minors at Long Island businesses.
All six workers were arrested during compliance checks that were conducted at several Suffolk County businesses on Tuesday, May 30, according to Suffolk County Police.
