A Long Island man is accused of swindling a victim out of thousands through a rental scam.
Gerson Robles, 39, of Uniondale, was arrested Tuesday, April 8, on suspicion of grand larceny, according to Nassau County Police.
An investigation found that Robles accepted a $5,000 security deposit to secure a rental property that he did not actually own, police said. The victim, a 48-year-old man, signed a lease agreement and attempted to move into the home, only to discover that it was already occupied.
