Uber Sued By Jersey Shore Bridal Shop Over Bogus Driver's Dress Theft: Report
A Jersey Shore bridal shop has sued Uber, saying one of its drivers stole seven wedding dresses worth more than $4,000, NJ Advance Media reported. The driver allegedly called himself "Torrey," and gave someone else's phone number before making off with the dresses, the outlet said. Barricaded NJ Driver Tased After Threatening Staten Island Police With Box Cutter: Report
A 20-year-old woman from Monmouth County was tased and arrested on Staten Island after barricading herself in a car with a box cutter, the Staten Island Advance reports. Diana Prokopenko, of Freehold, was on the side of Korean War Veterans Parkway in Huguenot on Wednesday, July 6 when she menaced police, the outlet said, citing an NYPD spokesman. Prokopenko faces charges of resisting arrest, menacing, obstructing governmental administration and possession of a weapon, the spokesman said. Details Released In Route 9 Crash That Left Two Dead, Two Critical
Two passengers were killed and two drivers were seriously injured in a crash on Route 9 in Freehold Sunday, July 3, authorities said. A 74-year-old Manalapan woman heading south on Route 9 sideswiped a 2015 black Lexus RX350 in a 2019 Lexus NX around 1:30 p.m. at the Route 33 intersection, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said. A 45-year-old man from Monmouth County has been charged with reckless manslaughter in a shooting, authorities said.
