A 77-year-old man from Bowie who was thrown from his motorcycle has been identified by the Charles County Sheriff's Office. William Prater Carpenter was on a three-wheeled Harley-Davidson motorcycle that left the roadway on Wednesday afternoon when he was involved in a one-vehicle crash that claimed his life. The bodies of two severely burned girls ages 6 and 8 were found at a Newark home following a fire over the weekend, officials said. Witnesses told detectives that there had been a birthday party for one of the girls on the second floor of the home and they'd been playing with fire near a couch in the hallway of the Eckert Street home on Saturday, Oct. 20, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. A person was killed in a house fire in Sparta on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 10, authorities said. First responders arrived at 132 Sawmill Road at 8:24 a.m. and found smoke billowing from the residence, Sparta police said. A tractor-trailer rolled over on Interstate 81 on-ramp in Cumberland County on Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, according to officials. 1 Killed After House Fire Breaks Out In Seaford
One person died in an overnight house fire on Long Island. The blaze broke out at around 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in Seaford. First responders observed the second floor of the home on Crescent Cove Drive engulfed in flames. The Seaford Fire Department extinguished the flames, but the residence sustained extensive damage. Angry Dad Draught House Vows To Rebuild After Fire
A popular Warren County sports bar was destroyed by a fire this weekend. Firefighters were called to Angry Dad Draught House on Route 31 in Washington around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. Photos of the scene show flames blowing through the roof. WFMZ says the roof of the restaurant collapsed and that no one was inside at the time of the blaze.
