An 18-year-old is dead after a car missed a stop sign, struck a guardrail, and plunged into a pond in Maryland, state police said.
At approximately 8:41 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, officers from the Fruitland Police Department responded to S. Division Street at Coulbourn Mill for a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to Maryland State Police.
Investigators say Matthew Garcia, 18, of Rockville, was driving a Honda Civic on S. Division Street when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection.
