A Long Beach man is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and violently attacking her during a domestic incident in East Hills, police announced on Sunday, April 26.
Shawn Morgenroth, 43, unlawfully entered a Canterbury Lane residence around 5:28 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, according to detectives. Once inside, he got into a verbal argument with a 39-year-old woman and forcibly took her cell phone, police said.
The situation escalated when Morgenroth physically blocked the victim from leaving the home and pushed her down a flight of stairs, causing injuries, authorities detailed.

A man is accused of dragging a woman out of a Long Island restaurant, stealing her phone, and driving off with her still inside his car, police said.
Syed Ibrahim Ali, 25, of Syosset, was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of 1029 Oyster Bay Road, East Norwich, Nassau County police said.
Detectives did not say whether Ali and the 30-year-old woman knew each other, but said the disturbance escalated when he “dragged the victim out of the restaurant and pinned her to the ground.”
