A 51-year-old man from Lakewood was killed and his four passengers were seriously hurt when his vehicle overturned in Monmouth County, authorities said. The single-vehicle crash was reported at 11:02 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 near Lanes Mill Road and Lanes Pond Road, Howell Township police said. The man was driving an SUV east on Lanes Mill Road when he ran off the road on a curve and struck a concrete mailbox, police said. A pregnant woman being driven to the hospital gave birth after a brand-new SUV was involved in a collision just off Route 17. The driver of a work van that may have been involved in the crash off the northbound highway at Linwood Avenue immediately drove the mom, dad and child to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6. A 16-year-old driver has been charged in a three-car crash that left a 19-year-old passenger in another car dead over the weekend in Prince William County, police said. The teen boy, of Haymarket, was going above the speed limit in the 40 mph zone on Catharpin Road and Fallen Oaks Place in Gainesville on Saturday, Aug. 26, county police said. Josiah Maier of Lititz was named as the driver at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, by the Lancaster County Coroner's Office. Berks County Woman Dies In Crash: Coroner
A Maxatawny woman died after crashing her car in the township Thursday, Aug. 17, according to authorities. Deborah A. Majerich, 67, was driving along Kohler Road near Berks County Park when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a telephone pole, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. She was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Topton EMS where she died from her injuries around 6:15 p.m., the coroner said. The manner of death was ruled accidental. A young child is doing okay after being struck by a car in the region. The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in Albany, near the intersection of Sherman and Ontario streets.
