Gas Leak Shuts Down Camp Hill Shopping Center: Police (Update)
A major gas leak that shut down the Camp Hill Shopping Center has been contained, and the area has now reopened, authorities announced.
The incident began at the shopping center on the 100 block of South 32nd Street in Camp Hill, Cumberland County, on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 12:29 p.m., according to a release from Camp Hill police.
Emergency crews responded to a significant gas leak, forcing all stores to close and the public to avoid the area.
As of 1:18 p.m., police confirmed the gas leak had been contained and the shopping center, along with the surrounding area, has reopened to citizens.

A Camp Hill teen was arrested after allegedly stealing beer from a Sheetz and driving under the influence, police said.
East Pennsboro Township police officers were on routine patrol at the Sheetz at 91 Erford Road in Camp Hill, on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, when they spotted 18-year-old Carter Wiederhold leaving the store with stolen beer at around 12:44 a.m., according to a police release.
