Three men have now been charged in the shooting death of a man sitting in a pickup truck last month in South Jersey, authorities said.
Just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, Willingboro officers were called to the area of Paddock Lane and Poppy Turn for a report of a shooting, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. James H. An off-duty Trenton police officer was identified as the victim killed in a fiery crash early Sunday morning, June 22, on a state highway, officials confirmed.
Timothy Long, 50, was driving a Honda SUV northbound on I-295 near milepost 45.8 in Westampton Township around 5:58 a.m. when he lost control, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said.
The vehicle went off the road, struck a traffic sign and a tree, then caught fire, according to Marchan. Long died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
