20 Displaced In Massive Long Island Apartment Fire
Twenty people were displaced on Long Island, as several Suffolk County fire departments teamed to battle a blaze at an apartment complex early on Monday, Dec. 9, fire officials said.
Fire crews responded to the Fairfield Sunrise Gardens complex on Greenbriar Drive in Bohemia shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Monday, where a fire damaged a total of 12 apartments, leaving 20 without a roof over their heads, according to the Red Cross.

It happened around 9 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Bohemia, southbound on Sycamore Avenue, said the Suffolk County Police.
According to police, the crash occurred when a 51-year-old man was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound on Sycamore Ave., making a left turn into a parking lot, when his vehicle struck a northbound 2017 Hyundai SUV.

It happened on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11:50 p.m. in Bohemia.
Erica Edwards, 27, of Brentwood, was driving a 2009 Nissan Maxima westbound on Sunrise Highway, approximately 1,000 feet east of Pond Road, when her vehicle struck the median, Suffolk County Police said.
The driver of a 2015 Mercedes-Benz, Kelvin Bonilla, 23, of Brentwood, witnessed the crash and stopped his vehicle behind the Nissan, which was then struck by a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, according to police.

Following an investigation, Suffolk County Police Third Precinct Crime Section officers arrested the trio in Brentwood on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7:45 p.m.

New Long Island Mosquito Samples Test Positive For West Nile
Eight new mosquito samples tested positive for West Nile virus on Long Island, bringing the total to 46 on the year, health officials in Suffolk County announced.
Samples collected on Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Thursday, Aug. 15, tested positive for the virus in Lindenhurst, North Babylon, Nesconset, Bohemia, Farmingdale, Huntington Station and Selden.
Officials said that no humans have been infected, though three birds have tested positive for the virus, but homeowners have been cautioned to avoid having standing water on their property.
