A drunk driver who crashed into a tree and killed his passenger in Bethlehem Township has been sentenced, Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta announced on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Randy Diomar Donato, 32, of Easton, caused the fatal single-vehicle crash along William Penn Highway near Chipman Road at 2:07 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, police said.

The crash happened at around 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of Freemansburg Avenue and Washington Street, according to the Bethlehem Township Police Department.

Jesus Torres Gonzalez, 45, of Birmingham, Ala., is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and related counts, according to state police.
The shooting occurred in the westbound lanes of Route 22 in Bethlehem Township around 4:45 p.m., troopers said. Investigators believe Gonzalez fired two shots at a Honda Civic from his 2006 BMW Z4.
