Man Charged After Years-Long Investigation Into Town Of Newburgh House Fire A 52-year-old man has been charged following a years-long investigation into a suspicious 2013 house fire in the Town of Newburgh, police announced Sunday. Man Attempts To Extort Yorktown Resident, Police Say A 30-year-old Orange County man was arrested and charged after police say he tried to extort money from a Yorktown resident. Shea Kirschbaum of Maybrook was charged with attempted grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, after a police investigation. Kirschbaum voluntarily turned himself into police on Jan. 11. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim. Kirschbaum was released on $500 bail and is due back in court on Feb. 8.
