Man Threatens Woman With Hammer In Nyack, Police Say
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have arrested a 35-year-old resident of Nyack on a menacing charge, authorities said.
The arrest came about when police responded to the report of a possible dispute at a residence in Nyack on Nov. 13, according to police.
The suspect, identified as Shavell Griffin, was allegedly involved in an argument with a female, and at some point the dispute became physical, police said.
Griffin allegedly struck the female about the head and body, then displayed a hammer and threatened her with it, according to police.

Man Stopped For Nyack Traffic Violation Charged With DWI
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have charged a 42-year-old resident of Dutchess County with DWI after an incident in Nyack, police said.
The arrest came about when an officer stopped a motorist, identified as Raymond Ross of Hyde Park, for a traffic violation on Main Street on Thursday, around 11:26 p.m., according to police.
Upon speaking to Ross, the officer noticed that he was slurring his speech and had bloodshot eyes, along with the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, police said.

Come Hear Handel's 'Messiah' In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Music Centre's Danbury Concert Chorus will perform Handel's “Messiah” on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 164 Deer Hill Ave.
The event will also feature members of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra, along with soloists Amy Goldin, soprano; Kirsten Sollek, mezzosoprano; Nils Neubert, tenor; and Joseph Beutel, bass.
Funding for the concert is being provided by Preferred Utilities Manufacturing.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door.
