Walmart Shutters Worcester Fulfillment Center, Nearly 100 Jobs Axed
Walmart closed a fulfillment center in Worcester on Monday, April 6, laying off 90 employees, according to a state filing.
The facility at 1 Tobias Boland Way is set to shut down permanently by May 29. The nearby Walmart Supercenter at 25 Tobias Boland Way will not be affected, officials said.

Garfield Teacher Accused Of Sex With 15-Year-Old Student Has License Revoked
Amy D’Ovidio, a former Bergen County teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, has had her teaching license revoked.
D’Ovidio was 35 at the time of the alleged encounters, and was employed by the Garfield Board of Education when they began, authorities said in 2024.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said the incidents occurred inside Garfield Middle School, at a home in Cedar Grove, and in a car across locations in Bergen, Essex, and Passaic counties.

Easter Sunday Route 80 Crash That Sent SUV Down Elmwood Park Embankment Probed As Hit-Run
An Easter Sunday crash that sent an SUV down an embankment off Route 80 in Bergen County is being investigated as a hit-and-run, New Jersey State Police said.
Troopers responded to the crash at 3:09 p.m., in the westbound lanes near milepost 61.2 in Elmwood Park, where an unknown vehicle struck the rear of a GMC SUV, causing it to hit a Mazda passenger vehicle, according to Trooper II Christopher Postorino.
