25-Year-Old Passenger Killed When Van Slams Into Parked Truck On I-295 In Hamilton: Njsp
A 25-year-old South Jersey man was killed when the van he was riding in struck a parked Mack truck on I-295 on Friday, April 24, authorities said.
Daniel H. Carmelo, 25, of Mount Royal, was a front-seat passenger in a Dodge Sprinter the van that struck the disabled truck just after 3:30 p.m., in the southbound lanes near milepost 64.7 in Hamilton Township, police said.
Carmelo was killed in the crash, police said. The driver of the van suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, authorities said. No other injuries were reported, police said.

Eric Manzanares, of Asbury Park, was sentenced on Friday, April 24, in Ocean County Superior Court in connection with the Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 shooting at Top Tier Hookah Lounge on Hooper Avenue, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
