Route 116 Stretch Will Close For Roadwork In North Salem Commuters should plan for lane closures on Route 116 in North Salem for highway construction beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The closures, between Route 22 and Route 131, will run from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Friday, Sept. 9, according to the New York Department of Transportation. Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour, but should expect delays. Yonkers Woman Traveling 96 MPH On I-87 Charged With Leandra's Law DWI A Westchester woman driving drunk at speeds up to 96 mph on Interstate 87 was charged under Leandra's Law for having her 11-year-old child in the car with her on Saturday, Aug. 28, according to state police. Veronica Montalvo, 42, of Yonkers was stopped by state police after they spotted her flying down the interstate. A blood test following the stop, showed she was driving with a blood alcohol limit over twice the legal limit at 0.18 percent, police said. More than 50 firefighters responded to battle the blaze that broke out early Thursday morning at the Westside Party Rentals at 200 S. 13th Ave. "It's been a long two days," Stevenson said. Poughkeepsie Man Charged With DWI Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say A Poughkeepsie man was charged with driving under the influence after he stopped for speeding by state police on Interstate 87 in Woodbury on Saturday, Aug. 28. During the stop, police said that Michael T. Purdy, 52, was intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. Blood test, following his arrest showed that he was driving at twice the legal limit with a blood alcohol content at 0.21 percent.  He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and speeding. Purdy was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets.
