Larchmont Comedy Night Benefits Israeli Guide Dog Center For The Blind
LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Four comedians will perform a comedy show Thursday, Dec. 10 in Larchmont to benefit the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind.The show called "Latkes & Laughs" will be hosted by Jeff Applebaum and feature comedians Barry Weintraub, Scott Blakemen and Simon Cadel. Palisades Residents Back Zoning Board's Decision To Limit House Size
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Palisades residents want to make sure the Orangetown Zoning Board of Appeals does not reverse its denial of a proposal for construction of a house that would be twice the size of the largest house in the historic district.So far, about 100 people have signed a petition supporting the board's decision and opposing the project. A letter to the board cites three occasions, Sept. 8, Oct. 13 and Nov. 10, when the board denied the proposal. Watch Ice Sculpting, Ride Polar Express At Rye Brook Winter Fest
RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- Ice sculpture demonstrations, a Polar Express train ride and showing of the "The Polar Express" film at Blind Brook High School are planned Friday at the Rye Brook Winter Festival. Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Club Thanksgiving Dinner Draws 200
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- More than 200 community members joined the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon for an annual Thanksgiving dinner.Guests included 70 senior citizens from the Doles Center and the Armory, 20 veterans from Mount Vernon, and 110 children and families from the club. The event was underwritten by York International Insurance Company, which provided 20 volunteers. After dinner the Revelators and the Alpha Stars performed. The entertainment was followed by dancing and dessert.
