Boces Opens Program For Bright Kids With Emotional Issues In Mahopac MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Northern Westchester BOCES Falls Academy, a program for bright, academically capable students in grades seven and eight who struggle with social and emotional issues began classes Monday, Jan. 19 in Mahopac. Not your typical middle school, Falls Academy has a lounge area with modern café-style seating, a sofa, and a life-sized mural of a forest with a cascading waterfall. Light streams into every area, with large glass windows separating classrooms, offices and workspaces. Ex-Teacher In Bethel Asks Sentence Be Lenient BETHEL, Conn. — An ex-teacher from Berry Elementary School in Bethel who entered no contest pleas in three counts of sexual abuse asked a Danbury judge to be lenient Wednesday at his hearing for sentencing, according to The News-Times. Brian Stroh pleaded no contest in October to three counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count of promoting a minor in an obscene performance and faces up to two years in prison, according to The News-Times.
