Westport Raises Needed Funds For Bench Memorial For Staples High Teacher WESTPORT, Conn. -- Community members have established a GoFundMe page for a memorial bench to honor Staples High School English teacher Cody Thomas.Sixty-eight people have contributed so far to the $2,605 raised since the fund was set up on Jan. 24. Cody Randall Thomas, a Stamford native and a resident of Fairfield, died Saturday, Jan. 23 of an apparent suicide, according to the Westport News.
