NORWALK, Conn. -- A program, Promoting Social Skill Development in a Screen-Oriented World, is offered Thursday, May 5 at the South Norwalk Library.
For many children with learning disabilities, the process of making and keeping friends can be as frustrating as any academic task and often more discouraging.
Their difficulty with reading body language, tone of voice, facial expressions and using effective pragmatic language in social situations can lead to awkwardness, rejection and diminished risk taking.

Norwood Dentist Helps Elderly, Gives Emergency Care
NORWOOD, N.J. -- It's been three decades since dentist Dr. Matt Galfund opened his practice in Norwood.
Married with two children, and a soccer coach in his personal life, professionally, Galfund is someone who goes beyond the typical daily routine of a dental office.
He is known to start his workday at 5 a.m. to accommodate a patient's work schedule, and picks up elderly or sick patients for their appointments.

Hastings Flea Celebrates Mom
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Live music, giveaways for Mom, and food round out a special Mother's Day Hastings Flea market Sunday, May 9, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.Jewelry, antiques, vintage, crafts and clothing among items will be available.
The flea market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is at the Hastings Zinsser Commuter Parking Lot, at Hastings train station.
